Bus Code of Conduct

Sirius College and Skylight Buslines aim to provide the needed bus service for your child/ren to be transported efficiently and safely to and from school. Upon agreement of taking the bus to and from school, parents and students agree to the following terms and conditions:

• Students should be in proper school uniform at all times whilst travelling on the school bus unless stated otherwise by Sirius College.
• Respect bus property by not marking or damaging it
• NO eating/drinking on the bus
• NO standing up while the bus is moving
• NO allowing any part of their body to protrude from the bus
• NO fighting, spitting, disrupting, use of offensive language, nor placing their feet on the seats
• Obey the bus driver’s instructions
• NO distracting the driver except in an emergency
• NO show of any disrespectful attitudes to other people travelling in other vehicles.
• NO student mobile phones on the bus during Pick Up and Drop Off

Misbehaviour on the bus will result in consequences set out by the Disciplinary Committee. The bus drivers will report any misbehaving students on the bus to the Principal, Coordinator and the Secretary. Continuous misbehaviour on the bus will lead to suspension from bus use at the discretion of the bus drivers and the school Disciplinary Committee.

Communication

Consent for excursions, notification of upcoming events and updates on school policy are sent via SMS. We ask that parents please read these text messages carefully and respond back as soon as possible so that your child/ren does not miss out. Consent for excursions and acknowledgement of updated school policies will only be accepted from the links in the text messages. If you are having difficulty responding to the messages or your phone number has changed, please contact the Office on (03) 5858 8200 or come in person. I am more than happy to help you out.
